About foodose

People on GLP-1 medications are handed a prescription and not much else. Most of the nutrition advice online was written for a body with an ordinary appetite, and it does not survive contact with a dose increase week. foodose exists to close that gap. It is free, there is no form to fill in first, and it works for women and men, with a cycle layer for the readers whose numbers move across a month.

The name has a single letter d in it, and that letter does two jobs. It ends the word food and it begins the word dose. Those are the two halves of life on this medication, and neither half makes sense without the other. Every tool on this site is built on that idea: what you eat and what you take are one conversation, not two.

So we give the useful part away. The calculator runs a twelve-layer engine and shows you every step of it, and behind it sits a library of cited research and news you can read for yourself. No account, no email wall, and no version of this where the answer costs money. If it helps you eat enough protein on a hard week, it has done its job.

How we work

Sources. Anything that could change what you eat is tied to a named primary source, and every PubMed identifier on this site is checked against the NCBI record before it is published. Six references were removed in September 2026 because the papers they named could not be found; we would rather have a shorter list than a longer one that does not survive being looked up.

Numbers. The calculator shows its working. Every figure it gives you comes with the arithmetic that produced it and the paper behind the method, so you can disagree with it in specific terms rather than general ones. The full method is here.

Review. Articles are written and edited by the foodose editorial team. We are not clinicians. Where an article carries a clinician's name, that person has read it and signed off on it; where it does not, no such review has happened and we do not imply otherwise. We are working on retaining a registered dietitian to review the library.

Updates and corrections. An article shows a last-updated date only when it has actually changed since publication. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did.

Questions or something we got wrong: ceo@foodose.co. A real person reads every email.
